Elmbridge Borough Council is proposing to remove Green Belt status from 2 areas of land either side of Cobham plus one in Long Ditton to allow for housing development of up to 1,000 houses in each location to meet a projected shortfall of 5,755 homes in the borough. The local areas are:

  1. The area between Stoke d’Abernon and Oxshott – Knowle Hill Park, Fairmile Park and north of Blundel Lane, including the Polyapes Scout Camp
  2. The area between the A3 and the west of the Portsmouth Road - The Fairmile and Chippings Farm.
