The Waste Incinerator planning application has gone to appeal and there is a very real threat of an incinerator being built in our Green Belt despite it being refused by Surrey County Council.
This is serious. 70% of Incinerators are permitted on appeal, so the community must be prepared to fight again and bring everything they have to fight this appeal.
There are two important meetings coming up which the public can attend.
The "No Elmbridge Waste Incinerator Group" (NEWIG) will be holding a meeting to discuss the appeal, with a view to fighting this application which local people do not want, especially with its impact on the Green Belt.
The meeting will be held:-
Date: Tuesday 14th January 2014 at 6:30pm
Venue: Silvermere Golf Club, Redhill Road, Cobham, KT11 1EF
Please let the organisers know if you are able to attend by emailing: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
The Public Enquiry Appeal is due to take place at 10am on Tuesday 4th March 2014 at County Hall, Penryn Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DY.
