We can alert you through our newsletter or via this website when planning applications have been submitted or public consultations are open which affect the local Green Belt. When a planning application has been submitted or a public consultation is taking place, you can write to the appropriate local Planning departments shown below and make your views known. The websites of each planning department will provide more details of how to view planning applications in their area and how to comment.
In all cases, both written and email, you must provide your name, postal address and the reference number of the planning application concerned.
Please note:-
- In accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any representations submitted will be made available for public inspection.
- Representations should be restricted to matters relevant to town planning such as the likely effects of the proposal on land use, local amenities and character of the area, the environment and countryside, traffic and parking.
- The effect on property values and private interests such as covenants cannot be taken into account.

Please Note:
- In all cases applications will be assessed against the provisions of the Elmbridge Borough Local Plan and other relevant supplementary guidance adopted by the Council. Major applications (equivalent to 10 or more dwellings) will be reported to an Area Planning Sub Committee for decision.
